When you are working with delicate data like exposed APIs it's best to work with least privileged. I originally had the idea to show all exposed APIs, but my Claude Code moved me away from that for security and made an even better education app that helps you even remediate if you find your APIs are exposed.

When consulting with your AI and using an API as a data source, ensure you dictate which version of the API to use if you are particular and don't want Claude to guess.
Without proper direction, Claude automatically chose the deprecated version 2 of the API. I have to reframe it to use the V3.6 of the Open Food Facts API to ensure we had the latest features and data.

Going live on TikTok has AI behind it that determines if you are promoting a product and restricts views and recommendations if you are seen selling on the platform. Shopify also has variants in the URL that you can help your scanner be more aware of the product you are determining the availability of. First attempt gave a false negative, because on that same page there was a variant that was out of stock and it happened to be the first variant (which the scanner read). By making the scanner variant aware it became more accurate.

used Codex to build this app. You have to be more specific with what you want to build than you normally would with Claude Code, but the build is solid. One of the cool things about using Codex, is that you have access to all of your models (including Image 2.0) So if you are building landing page, it's really good for that.
Layering the API to work together, plus understanding how to navigate the API connections. One of the challenges we had was getting a proper visual for the animated route. What we ended up doing is using canvas to overlay the map and build the animation on top of that.

Google APIs do have a large threshhold for free tiers. Easy to play around with and build things from. minimal friction.
Google Places Api only pulls in a 5-review hard cap, so limited scope there. May need an additional source like Outscraper to pull in all reviews for proper sentiment analysis. You only have 1 project that has a billing account; otherwise, you have to request more.
